We stumbled into boudoir photography as a way to escape the intimacy freeze that comes with having young children, and not only did I gain confidence in my body, but goofing off together shooting boudoir at night completely revamped our relationship. I discovered my love for boudoir photography a year after we had our second child. As many new parents know, it is difficult to maintain an intimate interest in your spouse when you're sleep deprived and nursing all night. I had had a hard enough time feeling comfortable in my body before I had children, and I definitely didn't after two pregnancies.
I was experimenting with my interest in photography and like any good husband, JD offered to pose nude for me. And, being the competitive asshole that he is, he said he could take better photos of me than I did of him. I think I gasped when he showed me the back of the camera. I was a goddess. I was Aphrodite herself. I was hooked.
Seeing myself in that light unlocked a side of me that I had been repressing. I now had power to make decisions in my life that I was too scared to do before.
Right now I’m having the best time decorating our Amsterdam apartment and building the capsule wardrobe of my dreams! I’m always down to get vadas and dosas at one of the many delicious Indian restaurants in Amsterdam.

When I’m not working, you can find me trying to convince Sim that we should get dinner out, scrolling IMDb to get ready for a movie night, or searching Google Flights for our next adventure that we definitely don’t have time for. My favorite things are taking in sights and smells while riding my bike, making Sim watch the thirty reels I sent her today, and exhausting the catalog of a new author or director.
I discovered my love for boudoir photography after seeing the immediate positive effect it had on Sim. Before trying a boudoir photoshoot, she was often skeptical of compliments that I gave her. She just couldn’t believe that she was as beautiful as I told her, but after the photoshoot, she could actually see what I was seeing! The instant change in her confidence level was astonishing, and I wanted to help others achieve that.
